The Oceanside Unified School District will offer several options for students to enroll in kindergarten and transitional kindergarten programs for the 2012-13 school year. Registration for all programs begins April 16, 2012. Eleven sites will offer full-day programs; five will provide half-day offerings, while an additional five campuses will be home to the district's new transitional kindergarten classes. 5th grade camp newsThe fifth graders will be leaving for Camp Cuyamaca on Monday, May 14th and arriving on Friday, May 18th. We will arrive on Friday, May 18th between 12:30 and 1:00. Students will go home at this time. We look forward to a wonderful trip. Please check the Palmquist Website nightly for to see how the students are doing at camp. Only 387 of the more than 5,500 public elementary schools in the state were recognized as “distinguished.” Palmquist also won the award in 2004 and 1998, joining North Terrace and South Oceanside Elementary as the only schools in the OUSD to ever win the award three times. To be invited to apply for this award, schools must meet a variety of eligibility requirements, including designated federal and state accountability measures based on the Elementary and Secondary Education Act and the state’s Academic Performance Index (API). floating marine lab field tripPalmquist's 5th Grade teachers received grant allowing their students to participate in the Sea Star Floating Marine Lab field trip aboard the Sea Star Vessel out of Oceanside Harbor. Our Fifth Grade students are enjoying good weather and a great time while at camp. All teachers have received their boxes and are beginning to pack.
